The Head of the GNPC Board, Freddie Blay, has given Ablakwa, TV3 management, and Johnnie Hughes a week to remove what he believes to be baseless accusations made against him and his family.
Blay argues that the Labadi Beach Hotel is not in charge of this property and that his children legally purchased a portion of the beachfront from the LA Council.
Ablakwa claims Blay and his sons have acquired stakes in the beachfront that is normally administered by the Labadi Beach Hotel, and he has accused them of being part of a larger state capture plan.
He said that as a result of this acquisition, the hotel is now the only one in the world without complete control of its oceanfront.
In response to these claims, Blay has said that although preliminary talks with the hotel’s management did occur, no agreement was reached.
As such, his sons went to the La Traditional Council to obtain the oceanfront for their commercial ventures. Blay queries why the hotel hasn’t filed a formal challenge and argues that his son’s interest in the property is legitimate.
However, Ablakwa stated, “I cannot retract the truth, Mr. Freddy Blay,” in a Sunday X post. Go to court right now; don’t wait a week, as I’m not retracting anything.
In addition, he made public a forthcoming demonstration called “Hands Off Our Hotels” on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. He also vowed to fight state capture and promised more information to come. He ended with a stirring call to action: “For God and Country.” Ghana First.
