Ghana could have thrived: Agyenim Boateng blames economic woes on political shifts (VIDEO)

Dr. Nana Agyenim Boateng, Founder and Leader of the United Front Party (UFP), has made a bold assertion that Ghana would have been significantly better off had President Nana Akufo-Addo been elected immediately after former President John Agyekum Kufuor in 2008.

He attributes the current economic difficulties to the change in government that occurred between 2008 and 2016.

In a candid interview with Puretvonline.com, Dr. Boateng expressed his astonishment at the numerous developmental projects undertaken by the current administration, including road construction, the establishment of hospitals, and educational facilities.

He emphasised that these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians.

He noted, “Back in Kufuor’s time, the dollar was nearly equivalent to GHC1. The shift in governance has seen the dollar soar, leading to significant repercussions for our economy.”

Dr. Boateng underscored the need for a return to effective leadership, advocating for Ghanaians to vote for New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections. He believes that continuing the work of Akufo-Addo is essential for Ghana’s progress.

Dr. Boateng has travelled extensively across the country, from the Volta Region to the North East, and he remains convinced that the NPP administration has delivered substantial results.

“This government has performed admirably. Nana Addo and Bawumia deserve another term to build on their successes,” he asserted.

Reflecting on the potential outcomes had the NPP leadership been in place since 2008, Dr. Boateng expressed optimism: “If Nana Akufo-Addo and Bawumia had been at the helm earlier, Ghana would undoubtedly be in a much stronger position today.”

As the nation gears up for the elections, Dr. Agyenim Boateng is urging Ghanaians to rally behind Dr. Bawumia to ensure a continuation of the developmental agenda that he believes is critical for the country’s future.
