Ghana Code Club to Equip Trainers with Robotics and AI Skills Under Ecobank Partnership

Ghana Code Club has announced an ambitious training initiative for teachers and facilitators under its partnership with Ecobank Ghana, aimed at equipping educators across newly launched digital centres with advanced technology teaching skills.

Founder and CEO of Ghana Code Club, Madam Ernestina Appiah, made the announcement at the commissioning of the Tarkoradi Digital Centre and other inclusive learning hubs, including a centre dedicated to deaf learners.

Through the initiative, trainers from participating centres will receive hands-on instruction in assistive digital learning methods, micro-based and block coding, robotics, and AI teaching resources. These tools will empower educators to introduce complex technology concepts in engaging, accessible ways using creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.

“These digital centres go far beyond computer skills,” Madam Ernestina Appiah said. “They will nurture a generation of young innovators and problem solvers who can apply technology to address real-life challenges — from community development to entrepreneurship.”

For special-needs education, Ghana Code Club is introducing sign language–adapted coding visuals, sensory learning activities, and AI demonstrations designed to transform how deaf learners experience technology education. This tailored approach ensures that no learner is left behind in Ghana’s digital transformation.

Madam Appiah stressed that the centres will help teachers gain confidence in delivering inclusive lessons, while students will discover technology as a tool for self-expression, creativity, and empowerment, not something distant or foreign.

She applauded Ecobank Ghana for its continued investment in digital literacy, describing the bank’s vision as transformative.

“Your dedication to building inclusive digital communities is not only transforming classrooms, it is shaping the future of Ghana’s digital innovation story,” she remarked.

The collaboration between Ecobank Ghana and Ghana Code Club stands as a model for public-private partnerships driving inclusive education and equipping Ghanaian youth to compete on the global stage in robotics, AI, and digital innovation.
