GES launches a self-posting module for education colleges.

A new self-posting module has been launched by the Ghana Education Service (GES) with the goal of expediting the hiring process for the first class of 2022 degree holders from Public Colleges of Education.

Operating from now until July 31, 2024, the new module will enable the graduates to designate their chosen district, location, and educational institution for their posting through the GES portal (www.gespromotions.gov.gh).

At a news conference held in Accra yesterday, Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Director-General of the GES, disclosed this information.

The GES Director-General announced on May 11, 2024, that the organisation was accepting applications from certified, experienced educators who have completed their first degree at a public education college.

Out of 21,010 applications received by the service, 12,784 were found to be qualified, according to him.

In order to improve the teaching and learning environment, Dr. Nkansah clarified that the self-posting module was created to make sure that recently qualified instructors were assigned to areas where they could interact successfully in the local tongue.

He added that by enabling teachers to select schools near their homes, the scheme will help them socially and economically.

He advised qualifying applicants to go to the GES portal in order to view their appointment letters on the platform. In addition, candidates need to provide their College Index Number in order to have their qualifications verified, he stated.

“Remember to accurately enter both your phone number and NTC number. This is essential to the approval process and the success of your application,” he stated. Applicants will receive a one-time password (OTP) on the phone number they gave, Dr. Nkansah said, and they would need to enter it.

Choose your district, school, and chosen area with care before submitting the application. “Make sure to print and save the appointment letter,” he added. Every appointment letter will have a QR code for authentication, according to Dr. Nkansah.

He explained that candidates could use their smartphones to scan the code and verify the legitimacy of the letter, adding, “This is to eliminate the occurrence of fake appointment letters.”

He continued, “Successful applicants must visit their respective Regional Education Directorates with their Ghana Card and other required documents for instructions and further verification.”
