Frank Murangwa is set to become the new Regional Director for Africa on the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) roster. Mr. Murangwa has taken over for Esmare Stenhofel, who departed the company at the end of March of this year.
Frank provides the ICCA team with a wealth of knowledge and novel viewpoints based on his more than 15 years of experience in the meetings and events sector. His experience encompasses a wide spectrum of competencies, from team management and tourism quality assurance to market development and communications. We are thrilled about the experience Frank will surely bring to strengthen ICCA’s standing in Africa.
“Frank is a welcome addition to the ICCA team by everybody. We’re thrilled to welcome Senthil Gopinath, CEO of ICCA, on board because of his background and experience, which make him a fantastic fit for the Regional Director position. “The ICCA team is more powerful than ever, and we are excited to expand our footprint in the rapidly expanding African market with Frank serving as our ICCA representative there.”
Frank was the Acting CEO of the Rwanda Convention Bureau before taking on the role of Director of Destination Marketing. Frank, who was selected as Africa’s MICE ICON 2017 by the Street of Gold Foundation, has a considerable foundation in tourism education and a great deal of experience creating marketing plans for travel destinations.
“I am excited to use my knowledge and experience to make a significant contribution to this outstanding company. I am happy to join it. The challenges and potential for advancement this role brings excite me,” Frank stated.
