Former MP Andy Appiah-Kubi Praises Mahama’s Ministerial Picks

Former Asante Akim North MP Andy Appiah-Kubi has commended President John Mahama for his ministerial nominations, lauding the president’s prioritisation of competence and integrity in selecting key appointees.

Speaking on JoyNews’ Upfront on Thursday, January 9, Mr. Appiah-Kubi expressed satisfaction with the nominations of Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Finance Minister-designate, John Abdulai Jinapor as Energy Minister-designate, and Dominic Akuritinga Ayine as Attorney General and Minister of Justice-designate.

He highlighted the nominees’ prior experience as deputies in the same portfolios during the previous NDC administration, describing them as highly qualified and capable of steering their ministries effectively.

“I’m very happy that the president has been very careful in selecting his ministers so far. And I want to commend him for prioritising competence, integrity, and knowledge,” he stated.

Appiah-Kubi emphasised that President Mahama’s deliberate and thoughtful approach to appointing his ministers reflects the qualities expected of a leader committed to national development.

He expressed confidence in the nominees’ ability to deliver results, saying, “These are the right choices for their respective ministries.”
