Election 2024: I’ll be president after December polls – Bawumia

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has confidently projected victory in the December 7 election, citing the party’s record of achievements and ambitious policies as the driving force behind its strong position.

Addressing supporters at a rally in Oforikrom, Ashanti Region, Dr. Bawumia emphasised that the NPP’s developmental initiatives have transformed Ghana’s socio-economic landscape.

He highlighted the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy, a cornerstone of the NPP’s administration, which has increased access to secondary education for thousands of Ghanaian youth. “Free SHS has lifted the burden on many families and empowered our young people for a brighter future,” Bawumia said, adding that this policy exemplifies the NPP’s commitment to social equity.

In addition, Dr. Bawumia underscored the success of the Planting for Food and Jobs initiative, the One District, One Factory (1D1F) policy, and digitalisation reforms, all aimed at spurring job creation and economic growth.

He asserted that these programs have not only improved livelihoods but also modernised the country’s infrastructure and economy, marking the NPP as the party of progress.

“Ghanaians want a government that prioritises their needs and delivers on promises,” Dr. Bawumia said, pledging to continue and expand these efforts if elected.

He reassured supporters that an NPP victory would lead to further advancements in education, healthcare, and infrastructure and asked the crowd for their continued support. “We are committed to building a Ghana that works for everyone,” he added, “and we need your votes to keep moving forward.”

In a final rallying call, Dr. Bawumia voiced optimism about the election outcome, stating, “With your support, we are winning 2024. The NPP is winning, and together we will secure a brighter future for Ghana.”

As the election approaches, Bawumia’s message of continuity and growth resonated with attendees in the Ashanti Region, cementing the NPP’s campaign focus on their record of tangible accomplishments and promise of further development.
