The Eastern Music Awards 2025 lived up to its billing as one of the region’s most prestigious creative gatherings, delivering a night of glamour, talent and well-deserved recognition on Saturday, December 13, at The White House in Koforidua.
Organised by Hi5 Empire, the ceremony brought together artistes, producers, promoters, media personalities and music lovers from across the Eastern Region and beyond, celebrating outstanding achievements in music over the past year. The atmosphere was electric as nominees, supporters and industry stakeholders filled the venue, united by a shared passion for creativity and cultural expression.
The success of the event was made possible through strong corporate and institutional support. Key partners including Bel Beverages, Hi5 Natural Mineral Water, The White House Events and More, D’Lyns Condos Apartments & Hotel, De-Ofosu Plaza Hotels, Mosaic Foods, CBI Painting and Kenjack Products played a vital role in delivering a polished, memorable and well-coordinated awards night. On the night, artistes across diverse genres were honoured for excellence, innovation and impact. El Jena emerged as one of the biggest winners, clinching the coveted Artist of the Year award, in addition to Afropop Song of the Year for Rain featuring Benecido 91. His victory reflected a year of consistency, strong audience connection and artistic growth.
Wendy Shay was also celebrated for her influence and dominance, taking home Eastern Pride of the Year and Ghana’s Most Viral Song of the Year for Too Late. Black Sherif was recognised as the Most Influential Act in Ghana, affirming his continued national and international impact.
Other standout winners included Kwesi Mafia (Afropop Act of the Year), Longation (Album/EP of the Year for Obrempong), Classic Band (Band of the Year), and Rany Dopesongz, who picked up multiple honours, including Eastside Song of the Year and Best Collaboration of the Year alongside C Clark.
The gospel and highlife categories were equally competitive, with Osofo Boateng’s Yesu Nkoaa winning Gospel Song of the Year, Prophet Revival Clement taking Gospel Act of the Year, and Rocky T shining with Highlife Act of the Year and Music Video of the Year for Abrante3.
Behind-the-scenes excellence was also acknowledged, as DNA Beatz won Music Producer of the Year, K Joe Beatz earned Sound Engineer of the Year, and Kay Motionz was named Video Director of the Year.
The full list of winners highlighted the depth of talent within the Eastern Region and the growing professionalism of its music ecosystem, from campus acts and instrumentalists to promoters and producers.
