DVLA DROWNING IN DEBT: New CEO Inherits Gh¢300 Million and $200 Million Liability (VIDEO)
The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotei, has made a shocking revelation—his predecessor, Kwasi Agyemang Busia, left behind an overwhelming debt of over Gh¢300 million and $200 million.
In an exclusive interview with Don Kwabena Prah on Hot FM, Kotei disclosed that the debts stem from multiple contracts, with one denominated in Ghana cedis and another in US dollars.
Despite the enormous financial crisis, Kotei remains resolute in his vision to transform the DVLA.

“These debts, though massive, will not cripple my mission. I am determined to clear them and restore the DVLA’s lost glory,” he declared.
He assured the public that his leadership will prioritise financial discipline, efficient service delivery, and strategic reforms to rebuild confidence in the institution.
