The Dream Projects Education Foundation has extended its support to two deprived communities in Asante Akim North by donating exercise books and textbooks to students in need.
This initiative aligns with the foundation’s ongoing commitment to promoting education in underprivileged areas.
As part of the donation exercise, the foundation organised a stakeholder engagement in Addokrom and Nsonyameye, where parents and opinion leaders were sensitised on the importance of prioritising education.
The event served as a platform to discuss challenges facing education in these communities and to encourage collective efforts in addressing them.
The Municipal Director of Education for Asante Akim North, Mrs. Mildred A. K. Agyapong, who was a key resource person at the event, expressed her excitement about the donation.
She emphasised the positive impact the books would have on teaching and learning and assured that the beneficiaries would take good care of the materials provided.
The donation and engagement received positive feedback from several stakeholders, including the Odikro of Nsonyameye, Nana Oduro Fikyi, who commended the foundation for its efforts in supporting education in the area.
The Dream Projects Education Foundation also used the occasion to appeal to the government to fulfil its promise of incentivising teachers who accept postings to deprived communities. They acknowledged the dedication of teachers and headmasters in these schools and commended them for their unwavering commitment to improving education.
Additionally, the foundation expressed gratitude to the Greengrant Fund for its support in making the donation possible. Their contribution has played a crucial role in ensuring that students in these communities have access to essential learning materials, reinforcing the foundation’s mission to bridge the educational gap in underserved areas.
The donation by the Dream Projects Education Foundation marks a significant step towards enhancing education in Asante Akim North. With continued support from stakeholders and the government, efforts like these will help create better learning opportunities for students in deprived communities.
