Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, has declared that the next elections in December have to be around ideas and policies.
He exhorted Ghanaians to base their decisions primarily on the policies, concepts, and solutions put out by the contenders.
Speaking to the nation at the State House in Accra on the eve of Eid-Ul-Adha, the Vice President emphasised the significance of unity and policy-driven debate in the electoral process.
“We should let this election be about the policies, ideas, and solutions that the respective candidates have for the country, and that is what we should be focusing on because we are one people, one nation.”
Dr. Bawumia also spoke about Ghana’s role as a peacemaker, highlighting the nation’s standing as the most serene in West Africa and its high ranking on the continent.
Ghana is a fortunate nation. We are the most tranquil nation in West Africa and arguably the sixth most tranquil nation overall,” he remarked.
