Dancegod Lloyd reveals he was once Thomas Partey’s teammate

Celebrated Ghanaian dancer Dancegod Lloyd, whose real name is Laud Anoo Konadu, has surprised fans by revealing that he was once a teammate of Thomas Teye Partey, the deputy captain of the Black Stars.

Dancegod Lloyd, a prominent figure in the dance community and co-founder of the Dance With Purpose Academy (DWPA), shared this unexpected connection during an exclusive interview on Channel One TV’s The Chat Show.

Dancegod Lloyd gained widespread recognition after his performance in Beyoncé’s “Already” music video, featuring Shatta Wale, in 2020.

Despite his success in the dance industry, he disclosed that his first passion was football. “I was a footballer.

Thomas Teye Partey and Moses Odjer were some of my teammates,” he stated, highlighting the time he spent playing alongside some of Ghana’s football talents.

When asked why he didn’t pursue a career in football, the renowned dancer explained, “You can’t question God… Sometimes I asked myself why I couldn’t play at the professional level, but God knows best, and that is what God wants for me. Till now, I question myself.” This statement reflects his acceptance of his journey, embracing the path that led him to become a professional dancer instead of a footballer.

Currently, Dancegod Lloyd is gearing up to launch a new dance school named Dance, Grow, and Live (DGL). Along with his new team, they have already started making waves in the dance scene, initiating popular dance challenges like Kidi’s “Lomo Lomo” and King Promise’s “Terminator.” They have also showcased their talents at various events, further solidifying Dancegod Lloyd’s influence in the entertainment industry.

Though no longer associated with DWPA, Dancegod Lloyd’s impact on the Ghanaian dance scene continues to grow. His revelation about his past with Thomas Partey adds an intriguing layer to his story, showing the multifaceted nature of his talents and experiences.
