The Church of Pentecost-Mpoasei Upper Room Assembly, Dansoman Area has donated some items to the Juvenile Prison (Nkodaa Bone School) at the Senior Correctional Center at Roman Ridge in Accra.
The donation, which included bags of rice, cooking oil, soaps, biscuits, assorted drinks, washing powder, toilet rolls, bottled water, was presented by a church delegation led by the Presiding Elder of Upper Room Assembly, George Amaryefio, during a visit to the prison on Saturday, 23, March, 2024.
Presenting the items to officials of the prison on behalf of Local Evangelism Ministry and the entire church, Elder George Amarteifio said the visit to the facility was to demonstrate the love of God to the inmates and to share the gospel with them. In a short exhortation, he emphasised on the love of God for humanity as he admonished to the inmates to believe in God and never loose hope using John 8 v 46 as his anchor text who the son set free is free indeed. An altar call after the sermon resulted in 35 inmates surrendering their lives to Christ including a muslim and ….rededicating their lives to Christ.
Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates, the officer in charge of the prison, DSP Joseph Nyamekye Arthur, thanked the Church for the kind gesture, which he described as “a timely visit.” He also prayed for God’s manifold blessings on the Assembly.
The Church delegation comprised Elder, George Amaryefio (Presiding Elder for Upper Room Assembly), Robert Kwamin (Assistant Local Youth, Upper Room Assembly), Angela Aforsah ( Local Evangelism Secretary, Upper Room Assembly), Deaconess Abigail Amaryefio, Deaconess Pearl Kwamin, Deacon Ebenezer Bentil ( Local Youth Leader, Upper Room Assembly and some members of the assembly.
