Christopher Boadi-Mensah Appointed Acting CEO of National Pensions Regulatory Authority
Christopher Boadi-Mensah has been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), effective January 23, 2025.
The announcement was made by the Office of the President in line with Article 195(1) of the Constitution of Ghana and section 16(1) of the National Pensions Act, 2008 (Act 766).
The appointment is subject to the advice of the governing board of the authority, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
Boadi-Mensah steps into the role at a crucial time as the NPRA continues its mandate to regulate and oversee Ghana’s pension schemes, ensuring the protection and proper management of workers’ retirement funds.
His responsibilities will include enforcing compliance with regulatory frameworks, improving the governance of pension schemes, and driving policies that safeguard the retirement savings of workers.
Additionally, he will address key challenges in the pension sector, such as transparency and ensuring the sustainability of pension funds.
As the NPRA plays a vital role in regulating pension fund managers, trustees, and schemes, Boadi-Mensah’s leadership is expected to strengthen oversight and contribute to reforms that will inspire greater confidence in the sector.
The announcement was communicated to key stakeholders, including the vice president, the chief of staff, the minister for labour, jobs, and employment, as well as the board chairpersons of both the NPRA and the Public Services Commission.
