A tragic robbery incident has claimed the life of a 60-year-old chopbar operator, Dorcas Korkor Tetteh, in Anloga Dornorgbor in the Volta Region.
The grim discovery was made on the morning of Saturday, December 28, 2024, in her residence in the Anloga District.
The deceased was found lifeless in her room with visible marks on her body, pointing to a violent attack.
According to the presiding member of the Anloga District Assembly, Joseph Kpattah, the victim had returned home from a church service the previous Friday night.
When her workers arrived at her home the following morning, they found signs of a break-in. The metal bars on her windows had been forcibly removed, and both the windows and doors were left wide open. Upon entering, they discovered her body lying on the floor, lifeless and bearing marks of violence.
A report was promptly filed with the local police, who have since conveyed the body to the mortuary for an autopsy and further examination. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, with early indications pointing to a suspected armed robbery.
The news of Dorcas Korkor Tetteh’s death has left the Anloga Dornorgbor community in shock and mourning. Known locally for her hard work and dedication as a chopbar operator, her brutal death has raised concerns about the increasing rate of violent crime in the area.
