Bawumia is a leader uniquely equipped to steer Ghana’s economy and development- NPP

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Director of Finance and Administration, William Yamoah, has highlighted Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a leader uniquely equipped to steer Ghana toward sustainable development and economic growth.

Yamoah emphasised Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to continuity in governance, digital transformation, and environmental stewardship as pivotal to addressing the country’s pressing challenges.

Yamoah lamented the persistent issue of abandoned infrastructure projects in Ghana, describing it as a major hindrance to economic growth. “Too many roads, schools, and healthcare facilities are left incomplete due to shifting government priorities,” he noted, adding that such projects waste resources and deprive citizens of essential services.

Dr. Bawumia, however, has pledged to complete all uncompleted projects initiated by both current and past administrations.

According to Yamoah, this approach ensures the judicious use of taxpayer funds and fosters continuity in development efforts.

Yamoah stressed the necessity of sustainable development in addressing challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and economic inequality. Dr. Bawumia’s policies, he said, align with these needs, focusing on inclusive growth while preserving the environment.

“His promotion of digital transformation across government services has cut inefficiencies, reduced bureaucratic costs, and minimised resource waste,” Yamoah stated. Initiatives such as the digital addressing system and mobile money interoperability have also reduced Ghana’s environmental footprint by curbing reliance on paper-based processes.

Dr. Bawumia’s vision extends to fostering inclusive economic growth, with key initiatives in education, healthcare, and housing. His support for the Free Senior High School policy has expanded access to quality education, empowering children from disadvantaged backgrounds to break free from poverty.

In healthcare and housing, Dr. Bawumia’s investments aim to create a Ghana where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive. Expanding healthcare facilities, rolling out affordable housing, and enhancing digital infrastructure are central to his strategy for equitable national development.

A staunch advocate for environmental sustainability, Dr. Bawumia supports green energy initiatives, waste management reforms, and climate resilience programs. These efforts are designed to protect Ghana’s natural resources while preparing the country to tackle future environmental challenges.

Yamoah also praised Dr. Bawumia’s dedication to transparency and accountability, describing his public sector reforms as a foundation for trust between the government and citizens. By improving efficiency, reducing corruption, and enhancing institutional transparency, Dr. Bawumia is creating a resilient governance framework that ensures lasting progress.

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s vision is clear: a Ghana where development is responsible, inclusive, and sustainable,” Yamoah stated.

He urged Ghanaians to consider not only intentions but also the capability and track record of candidates as they head to the polls.

With a proven commitment to project completion, digital transformation, and environmental stewardship, Dr. Bawumia stands out as a transformative leader for Ghana’s next chapter.
