Award-winning Ghanaian journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has revealed that despite historic odds and a troubled legacy, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s relentless campaign may still chart a path to victory in the 2024 elections.
Manasseh provided a balanced perspective on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s chances in the upcoming elections.
In a detailed Facebook post, Manasseh outlined the vice president’s strengths, including his hard work, humility, and organisational approach, as well as the NPP’s strategic use of incumbency advantage.
“Dr. Bawumia’s work ethic and the disciplined structure of his campaign have set him apart,” Manasseh wrote, praising the trio of Bawumia, Samira Bawumia, and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh for their coordinated efforts.
However, he highlighted monumental obstacles, notably Ghana’s struggling economy and the entrenched trend of regime change every eight years.
“The economy is the albatross around the NPP’s neck,” Manasseh noted, pointing to disgruntled pensioners and bondholders who have been left reeling from the government’s debt restructuring.
Manasseh’s analysis sets the stage for what he describes as a “first-round verdict” on the NPP’s performance, urging voters to critically assess their choice.
