The Former Chairperson of Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim has admonished politicians to avoid insulting their political opponents and debate on real issues with fact and data.
According to her, the media is a powerful tool that keeps records of people and it is important that politicians become very circumspect with their utterances.
She believes politicians who insult their opponents have no message and are mentally weak.
It is not something we need to entertain, but it’s unfortunate we sometimes see people occupying political positions because they were able to insult their opponents.
Hajia Hamdatu urged politicians to debate issues with facts and data when given the opportunity to speak with the masses and devoid politics-of-insults.
