The National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Odododiodioo Constituency, Alfred Kotey Ashie, has won the 2024 parliamentary election with a decisive victory over his New Patriotic Party (NPP) rival, Abdul Mannaf Sowah.
Mr. Ashie garnered 38,473 votes, while Mr. Sowah polled 24,877 votes.
The results, collated from all 253 polling stations, including special voting centres, reaffirm the NDC’s stronghold in the constituency.
This election marked a turning point for both major political parties as they introduced new faces.
Abdul Mannaf Sowah replaced Nii Lante Bannerman, who had unsuccessfully contested the seat three times for the NPP.
On the NDC’s side, Alfred Kotey Ashie succeeded long-serving MP Nii Lante Vanderpuye, taking on the challenge of sustaining the party’s dominance.
The outcome solidifies the NDC’s reputation as the leading force in Odododiodioo and underscores its continued appeal to voters in the area
