The National General Secretary of People’s National Convention (PNC), Janet Nabla has expressed her displeasure on the flagbearer of Movement for Change, Hon. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng.
Her displeasure comes after Alan Kyerematen clarified that, since Ghana is primarily a Christian nation, it would be wise to elect a President who embodies Christian values in the upcoming December general elections.
While addressing congregants of the Church of Pentecost Dr. Wyatt Assembly over the weekend, Mr. Kyerematen said “As a predominantly Christian nation, as Christians, it is our responsibility that we elect a Christian leader, who is also a Christ like leader.
“We want a leader who has the vision to bring hope to the hopeless, but we also want a leader who will be a servant leader to serve the people and not to Lord over them. We also want a leader who has integrity. These were the characteristics of our Lord Jesus who today is risen,” he said.
Acording to her, Ghana is inclusive of all its citizens, irrespective of their religious beliefs.
Madam Nabla affirmed that every individual in Ghana identifies foremost as a Ghanaian first before any religious association, and we underline that any religious community holds the potential to produce a president if elected by the people.
She emphasized that, Hon. Kyeremateng lacks the necessary maturity to assume the role of Flagbearer at this juncture, noting that maturity transcends mere age.
