Akufo-Addo: My government has built more roads and interchanges than any in Ghana’s history

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has boldly declared his administration’s unparalleled success in infrastructure development, asserting that no government in Ghana’s history has constructed more roads and interchanges than his.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Flower Pot Interchange in Accra on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the President highlighted the scale and impact of his government’s infrastructure projects, emphasising their role in shaping a modern Ghana.

“This project is one among many,” the president stated. “From the Northern Savanna to the southern coastline, and from east to west, we are building a new Ghana—one where roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals rise as symbols of a nation that works for everyone.”

President Akufo-Addo spotlighted key projects in the Greater Accra Region, including:
Pokuase Interchange
Tema Motorway Interchange Phase I
Obetsebi Lampey Interchange Phase I
East Legon Underpass
Flower Pot Interchange

He extended his list to other regions, pointing to groundbreaking achievements like the first-ever interchanges in Suhum (Eastern Region) and Tamale (Northern Region).

“These projects are not just milestones; they are proof of our dedication to creating a Ghana that keeps moving forward,” he added.

The President framed his administration’s record-breaking infrastructure development as a critical driver of economic growth and national progress. He underscored the broader benefits of these projects, including reduced traffic congestion, improved safety, and enhanced connectivity across Ghana.

As the 2024 elections approach, Akufo-Addo’s emphatic claim to infrastructure dominance is set to become a central theme in the New Patriotic Party’s campaign, signalling their focus on tangible, transformative achievements.
