VIDEO: I don’t deserve to live – Chef Smith says in apology over fake GWR certificate

Chef Ebenezer Smith, also known as Chef Smith, has rendered an unqualified apology to Ghanaians following revelations that his Guinness World Record (GWR) certificate is fake.

GHOne TV, based in Accra, hosted an interview with Chef Smith in which he expressed regret for deceiving everyone.

Unable to contain his emotions, the chef sobbed and apologised live on television while on his knees.

“I sincerely apologise to everyone on this vast platform, telling them that I am truly sorry and that I don’t deserve to live. He sobbed, “I was just trying to make a living, and now this shame has come upon me.

In 2024, Chef Smith broke the record for the longest cooking marathon by holding a press conference at the La Palm Beach Hotel on Tuesday, July 2.

GWR, however, stated that it is not aware of any application or attempt of that kind from the Ghanaian chef.

Benny, the manager of Chef Smith, insisted they had a confirmation email from GWR and denied the certificate was bogus amid criticism about dishonesty from the public.
