PNP demands for more extensive economic reforms and praises the trade minister for the pricing regulation law

The People’s National Party (PNP) applauds Hon. Kobina Tahir (K.T.) Hammond, Minister of Trade and Industry, for proposing a bill in Parliament with the goal of controlling cement pricing and lowering the cost of cement for average Ghanaians.

The goal of this act is to help Ghanaians in general and Ghanaian families in particular. The only people who would oppose this excellent piece of law are those who wish to sabotage this positive endeavour.

This follows K.T. Hammond’s recent statement to reporters that the government is dedicated to ensuring Ghanaians are not underpaid while purchasing cement.

As a result, K.T. Hammond has offered the parliament a proposed legislative tool to regulate cement pricing in the country.

It is clear that some members of parliament put the interests of the businessmen and women who supported their campaigns ahead of that of their constituents, according to a press release issued by PNP national chairman Janet Nablah. Because of their responsibilities to their sponsors, these MPs frequently reject initiatives meant to assist Ghanaian families.

In order to address the rising costs that many Ghanaian households are facing, Janet Nablah impels the Ministries of Trade, Works and Housing, and Agriculture to expand this programme by adopting other legislative instruments to regulate food and rent prices.

She urged every Ghanaian to vote against any political party in the 2024 elections that prioritises the interests of corporations over the welfare of common people, including you. Be on the lookout for and oppose any parties endorsing commercial practices that negatively impact the average Ghanaian household. Leaders that put your well-being ahead of corporate profits are what your families deserve.
