EC pulls two employees from the by-election in Ejisu

Two temporary employees of the Election Commission (EC) have been removed from the Ejisu by-election in the Ashanti region.

These individuals, who were positioned at the Fumesua Pentecost Church polling place with polling station code F311503, are the presiding officer and ballot issuer.

The Commission stated in a statement that the withdrawal was brought about by a widely shared video in which Kingsley Nyarko, the MP for Kwadaso for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), dropped an envelope on the table that the presiding officer and ballot issuer were standing at.

According to a statement from Samuel Tettey, the deputy head of the EC, an inquiry into the video has begun.

The values and principles of honesty, integrity, and openness are upheld by the Commission. All temporary employees receive reinforcement of these ideals during their training. According to the statement, “The Commission will not tolerate actions that compromise the reputation of the organization and will not hold back from taking legal action against its employees who break the law.

Meanwhile, the Commission says the report on the incident will be made available to the public in due course.
