1 Dead, Six Critically Injured in Multiple Crashes on Gomoa Fetteh Stretch

One person has been confirmed dead, and six others are battling for their lives following a series of road accidents along the Gomoa Fetteh stretch in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Elvis Antwi, a resident of Agona Kwesi-Twikrom. He reportedly died after his motorbike collided with a commercial Urvan vehicle, with registration number GN 4754-19, near the Hope Village Hospital.

According to reports, the other victims were involved in separate accidents along the same road, all occurring within a short period as they were heading towards the beach.

Eyewitnesses say the incidents caused panic among motorists and pedestrians, with several victims sustaining serious injuries.

A driver, Seth Kpeye, who spoke to Adom News, described the situation as sudden and chaotic.

“The collision happened instantly, and several people got injured,” he recounted.

The six injured persons, who sustained varying degrees of injuries, have been rushed to nearby health facilities where they are currently receiving treatment.

The incidents have raised fresh concerns about road safety on the Gomoa Fetteh stretch, a route known for heavy traffic, especially on weekends and holidays due to its proximity to popular beaches.

Authorities are yet to provide further details on the cause of the accidents, but residents and road users are calling for increased safety measures to prevent future tragedies.
