VIDEO: NPP Communicator Questions Mahama’s Claim of One Million Jobs
A communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Eddy Adusei, has questioned claims by John Dramani Mahama that more than one million Ghanaians secured employment within the first two quarters of 2025.
Speaking on the Hot FM Morning Drive hosted by Oman Nana, Adusei argued that there is little visible evidence to support the figure cited by the president during his State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Eddy Adusei made the remarks during a debate with Henry Adu Frimpong, who defended the government’s job creation record.

According to Adusei, recruitment into security agencies and other public services that was reportedly initiated months ago has not yet materialised in training centres across the country.
“Security recruitment started way back in October alongside other services which started in December, but till now there’s no one at the training centre,” he said.
He insisted that if the government had indeed recruited such a large number of people, the presence of new recruits in training institutions and public agencies would be evident.
“What the president is saying has no evidence. We have not seen even a single person at the agencies since they came into power,” he stated, adding that recruitment into government institutions did not experience such delays during the previous administration.
Adusei further questioned the credibility of the government’s employment figures.
“If the NDC say they’ve recruited over one million people, which is not true, then where are we getting to as a country?” he asked.
The comments come after President Mahama told Parliament during his address that more than one million Ghanaians had secured jobs within the first two quarters of 2025.
According to the president, the milestone reflects early signs that the country’s economy is regaining strength.
Eddy Adusei attributed the increase in employment to government initiatives targeting agriculture, infrastructure development, small and medium-sized enterprises, and the digital economy.
“More than one million Ghanaians secured jobs within the first two quarters of 2025,” President Mahama said, adding that the figures demonstrate that government interventions are beginning to make a meaningful difference for families and young people across the country.
The president also emphasised that job creation remains a central pillar of his administration’s economic strategy, noting that further efforts will be made to expand employment opportunities through sustained public investment and stronger collaboration with the private sector.
