The presentation also fulfils a constitutional obligation under Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, which requires the President to appear before Parliament at the start of each session to report on the state of the nation.
Ahead of the address, the Minority has urged the President to present concrete solutions to pressing issues affecting Ghanaian youth, including unemployment and economic challenges.
Meanwhile, the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, has directed that Members of Parliament be seated by 8:30 a.m., with no late entries permitted.
The SONA is expected to set the tone for legislative and policy actions for 2026, providing insight into the government’s roadmap for national development.
