Gov’t Announces Comprehensive Psychosocial Support for Victims In Viral Intimate Video
The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey has announced a comprehensive psychosocial support programme for individuals affected by a recent viral intimate video incident, extending assistance not only to victims but also to their families and close relations.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, February 18, the minister described the intervention as professional and inclusive, stressing that emotional and psychological care is being provided to all those impacted, including children and relatives connected to the affected persons.
The move follows complaints lodged by several women who appeared in a viral video involving a suspect linked to the incident.

She emphasised that support is not limited to those directly involved but also covers anyone emotionally affected by the situation.
Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey urged individuals who have not yet contacted the ministry to do so, assuring them of care, confidentiality and compassion.
According to her, the response is being implemented under the directive of President John Dramani Mahama, who has mandated authorities to take full responsibility for ensuring affected persons receive the necessary support.
She encouraged the public to help identify individuals who may need assistance and to connect them with the Ministry through its toll-free helplines:

The minister further disclosed that the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection is working closely with the Ministry of Education to support affected individuals and address issues arising from the case.
She revealed that some women have already reached out and assured that all developments are being handled with strict confidentiality.
Those who may feel discouraged from speaking out were encouraged to come forward, with reassurance that the government stands firmly behind them.
Reaffirming government policy, the minister said the administration remains committed to reducing vulnerability and ensuring that no one affected by the recent incident is left without support.
She stressed that any circumstance that exposes citizens to distress or harm will be met with intervention, care and protection.
The minister concluded by assuring victims and their families that help is available and accessible across Ghana, urging all affected persons to seek support without fear, as confidentiality is guaranteed.
