Telna, the world’s largest travel eSIM enablement platform, has announced the launch of a $100 million dedicated investment fund aimed at accelerating the global adoption of digital-first, direct-to-consumer travel eSIM brands and applications.
The fund, the first of its kind in the industry, will focus exclusively on supporting travel eSIM companies, mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), and emerging Super Apps, positioning them for rapid growth in an increasingly digital mobile connectivity market.
According to Telna, the initiative comes at a time when the eSIM ecosystem is expanding at unprecedented speed, with new companies reaching scale far more quickly than traditional telecom models previously allowed. As a long-standing connectivity partner to many of these businesses, Telna says it has gained unique insight into which eSIM innovations are scaling fastest and where future opportunities lie.

The fund will provide growth capital, partnership programmes, and acquisition opportunities to innovative travel connectivity providers, regional MVNOs, and Super Apps. These resources are expected to help companies carve out differentiated niches in regional markets, launch co-branded campaigns, and engage consumers more directly. Telna disclosed that several funding initiatives are already underway, signalling strong early market interest.
Industry observers see the move as part of a broader shift in mobile connectivity, where travel eSIM MVNOs are emerging as the application layer in many regions, offering seamless prepaid roaming services while laying the groundwork for broader regional Super Apps and local connectivity solutions.
Throughout this evolution, Telna will continue to serve as the core telecom infrastructure provider, enabling partners to focus on consumer engagement, application development, and AI-driven services. Beneficiaries of the fund will leverage Telna’s global telecom infrastructure, APIs, and data platforms to scale rapidly across regions and vertical markets.
The first phase of the fund will prioritise MVNOs and travel eSIM applications, delivering instant, borderless roaming without the need for physical SIM cards. Funding will also support joint ventures with Super Apps, including co-branded promotions, loyalty programmes, and integrated app experiences designed to accelerate user adoption.
Commenting on the initiative, Gregory Gundelfinger, founder and chief executive officer of Telna, said the fund goes beyond financial backing.
“Beyond providing growth capital, this investment allows MVNOs to become more strategically aligned with Telna, enabling deeper technical and commercial integration with our platform. By working more closely together, these partners can build more differentiated products, accelerate innovation, and deliver unique, high-value connectivity experiences that stand out in an increasingly competitive market,” he said.
The Telna Growth Fund will focus on several key areas, including strategic mergers and acquisitions to unify the global travel eSIM ecosystem; growth capital and credit facilities for eSIM brands, MVNOs, and Super Apps; partnership programmes for mobile operators entering the digital roaming market; marketing and co-branded initiatives to boost adoption; and regional expansion to strengthen global travel corridors.
Telna currently distributes millions of travel eSIMs every month, accounting for just under 5 per cent of global roaming traffic. The company recently launched its Universal eSIM, allowing travellers to use a single prepaid eSIM across all countries with regional top-ups, removing the need for destination-specific eSIMs.
Michael Neuman, Chairman of Telna, described the fund as a catalyst for the next phase of digital roaming.
“The market for prepaid roaming is growing rapidly, and digital travel connectivity is becoming the global standard. This fund empowers MVNOs, operators, and Super Apps to innovate, while Telna continues to provide the infrastructure that makes global eSIM adoption possible,” he said.

Telna has invited travel eSIM companies, MVNO providers, mobile operators, online travel platforms, Super Apps, and digital roaming innovators to submit expressions of interest for collaboration, investment, or acquisition. Interested parties can contact the company via growth@telna.com.
The launch of the Telna Growth Fund marks a significant milestone in unlocking the full potential of travel eSIM technology, accelerating digital roaming adoption, and supporting the rise of regional mobile innovators as the next generation of global connectivity platforms.
