Devtraco Group Unveils Pelican Hotel, Reaffirms Commitment to Transparency

The Chief Executive Officer of Devtraco Group, Francis Okai Okoh, has reiterated the company’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and responsible real estate development as the firm officially launched The Pelican Hotel at Cantoment, Accra, during a media press soiree.

Addressing journalists, stakeholders, and partners at the event, Mr Okoh described the gathering as a symbolic milestone in Devtraco’s journey, underscoring the company’s dedication to openness, public engagement, and strong partnerships with the media.

“This afternoon’s meeting is a symbolic step forward in our commitment to openness, engagement, and partnership with the media and the broader public,” he said. “We are delighted that you could join us as we continue to celebrate this journey and share our vision for this exciting and remarkable milestone in our organisation.”

He noted that for over three decades, Devtraco Group has played a pivotal role in shaping Ghana’s real estate landscape, contributing not only to housing and hospitality infrastructure but also to community development, trust-building, and the promotion of enduring values.

According to Mr Okoh, Devtraco’s work goes beyond construction and forms part of a broader national narrative focused on aspiration, urban transformation, and long-term impact.

“Devtraco Group has been part of a narrative that is bigger than construction. It is about aspiration, urban transformation, and impact,” he stated, acknowledging the crucial role of the media in documenting and amplifying the company’s achievements over the years.

Addressing recent public commentary, Mr Okoh firmly rejected claims suggesting that Ghana’s real estate sector is largely a front for money laundering. He described such assertions as misleading and unfair to credible industry players.

“In recent times, we have heard statements by some government appointees suggesting that real estate business in Ghana is a money laundering venture. This is clearly not true,” he stressed. “There are many genuine real estate businesses in Ghana doing honest work, and we appeal to the media to help carry that narrative to the general public.”

He explained that the launch of The Pelican Hotel, a fully Ghanaian-owned hospitality facility, is intended to demonstrate Devtraco’s commitment to ethical investment and quality development, while adding significant value to Accra’s growing hospitality landscape.

Mr Okoh further said the press soiree was also aimed at strengthening Devtraco’s relationship with the media, partners, and stakeholders who play a critical role in shaping public understanding of the company’s vision and impact.

“As we move through today’s programme, we will share key updates and exciting announcements that reflect our commitment to innovation, excellence, and meeting the growing demand for quality hospitality assets like The Pelican Hotel,” he noted.

He encouraged journalists to engage freely with Devtraco’s management and technical teams, ask questions, and gain deeper insights into the projects that have positioned the company as a leading name in Ghana’s real estate industry.

Mr Okoh concluded by expressing gratitude to the media and stakeholders for their continued support and presence, describing their engagement as essential to Devtraco’s success.

“Your presence is highly valued, and we look forward to sharing this exciting moment with you. Welcome, and enjoy the conversations and the connections,” he said.
