Founder and Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group, Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong, has paid glowing tribute to President John Dramani Mahama for personally connecting him to the presidents of Tanzania and Kenya, an intervention he says expanded the group’s footprint across Africa during a thanksgiving service to mark the completion of a new ultra-modern church for the Church of Pentecost at Trassaco in Accra.
Speaking at the dedication of the newly christened Pentecost International Worship Centre – Trassaco (PIWC-Trassaco), Dr Siaw Agyepong described the moment as one of gratitude rather than personal triumph, using the platform to acknowledge divine grace and the strategic support of Ghana’s political leadership over the years.
At the heart of his remarks was President John Dramani Mahama, whom Dr Agyepong credited with facilitating key international relationships that transformed the Jospong Group’s continental engagement.

“The current president, President John Dramani Mahama, has been a strong supporter,” he said. “He led me to Tanzania and personally introduced me to the President of Tanzania, who in turn introduced me to the President of Kenya. I humbly want to thank him very, very much for all the support.”
According to Dr Agyepong, those introductions were pivotal in extending Ghanaian-led waste management and sanitation solutions beyond the country’s borders.
Dr Siaw Agyepong also acknowledged the foundational role played by successive presidents of Ghana, beginning with the late President Jerry John Rawlings, under whose era discipline and public service reform shaped the national mindset.
He paid tribute to former President John Agyekum Kufuor, the late President John Evans Atta Mills, and former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, noting that their collective leadership significantly advanced the establishment and expansion of waste management and sanitation facilities across the country, including critical infrastructure operated by Jospong subsidiaries.
The Jospong Group Executive Chairman extended heartfelt appreciation to Chief of Staff Hon. Julius Debrah, whom he described as a brother and a close family friend.
“He is a kind person, a good person. He, his wife and the entire family have been my friends,” Dr Agyepong said.
He also acknowledged the presence of senior parliamentary leadership, including the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, as well as the Member of Parliament who joined the ceremony to honour the occasion.
Dr Agyepong further expressed gratitude to the Sector Minister, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, and officials from various agencies and ministries who participated in the thanksgiving service, describing their presence as “a sign of encouragement, deep love and humility”.
The PIWC-Trassaco, a 2,500-seat state-of-the-art auditorium, will serve both the Pentecost International Worship Centre congregation and the E-Church community.
Designed to reflect excellence, reverence and functionality, the facility features:
- A 2,500-seater main auditorium
- A dedicated children’s auditorium
- A digital library
- An in-church studio
- Full administrative suites
The complex is also equipped with two elevators, a 1,000 kVA transformer, standby generators, central air-conditioning, modern fire safety systems and CCTV surveillance, positioning it as one of the most advanced church facilities in Accra.
In a parallel act of philanthropy, Dr Siaw Agyepong and his wife donated a fully furnished four-bedroom mission house near the Jospong Group premises for the resident minister.
The gesture, he explained, was guided by a firm conviction that “a shepherd is most effective when settled in a peaceful environment conducive to prayer and ministry.”
As prayers were offered over the new edifice, Dr Siaw Agyepong concluded with a message of faith and guidance, reminding congregants that leadership, whether in business, ministry or public service, must remain anchored in God’s direction.
“He will always guide you and tell you what the Lord says on issues,” he said. “God bless you.”
