Ten suspects captured in a disturbing viral video assaulting two young women at Wassa Dawuranpong in the Western Region have been arrested following a joint operation by the Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Ghana Police Service and the Western Central Regional Police Command.
In a press release dated November 27, 2025, the police confirmed that the victims were subjected to severe physical abuse after being accused of stealing money from a gold-buying shop.

The video triggered widespread outrage nationwide, prompting swift law enforcement action.
According to the police, three of the suspects – Eric Donkor, alias Killer Block, 32; Yaw Gyimah, 29; and Edmond Nartey, 24 – were directly seen in the video assaulting the women, including cutting through their scalps with a razor, an act described as barbaric and criminal. They have since been taken into custody.
However, a key suspect identified as Tawiah, also known as Awaga, who was also seen cutting the scalp of one of the victims, is currently on the run. Police have launched a manhunt to ensure he is apprehended.
The other arrested individuals, Steven Amu, 24; Farouk Balas, 18; Mensah Bernard, 18; Adu Baggeo, 23; Bismark Nyarko, 30; Akwesi Poku George, 18; and Oteng Alfred, 23, are accused of playing various roles in aiding and abetting the assault.
The Ghana Police Service stated that the victims are receiving the necessary support and care as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, the Western Central Regional Police Command has cautioned the public against mob justice, stressing that no one has the authority to take the law into their own hands.
“Any arrested person must be handed over to the nearest police station to go through the due process of the law,” the statement emphasised.
Police say further updates will be provided as efforts to arrest the remaining suspect continue.
