MTN, Absa Graduate 41 SME Titans After Rigorous 13-Week Mini MBA
MTN Ghana, in partnership with Absa Bank, has celebrated 41 outstanding entrepreneurs who have successfully completed the 2025 edition of the MTN–Absa Mini MBA programme—an intensive 13-week business accelerator designed to sharpen the skills and scale the ambitions of Ghana’s most resilient small and medium enterprises.
The graduation ceremony, held in Accra, brought together families, business partners, and the corporate leadership of both institutions to applaud the grit and discipline of the participants who committed their weekends—both physically and virtually—to the nine-module programme.
Speaking at the event, Angela Mensah-Poku, MTN Ghana’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, praised the graduates for their dedication and highlighted the depth of what the programme sought to achieve.

“Today, we are here to celebrate forty-one graduates who took thirteen weeks—every weekend—to learn, unlearn, and refine their craft,” she said. “They went through nine modules covering finance, leadership, marketing, packaging, and many more. These weren’t concepts they had never heard before, but the programme helped crystallise their knowledge, blending theory with practical application.”
The participants, all MTN and Absa customers running established businesses, were commended for their unwavering commitment despite demanding schedules.
“The fact that they sacrificed their weekends tells you everything about the fortitude and hunger of our SMEs,” Mensah-Poku noted. “These are people who want to grow, they want to scale, and they want to digitise their businesses.”
Mensah-Poku reiterated MTN’s commitment to ensuring that no customer or community is left behind as the world advances digitally. She emphasised that the Mini MBA was only one pillar of the broader MTN Enterprise Support Framework.
“As you know, MTN remains committed to our year-long accelerator. Ending today with this graduation is a testimony to the fact that we are here for the long term,” she said. “We don’t leave them after this. They will continue into coaching sessions with Nova Business School—because we are not just here to give certificates; we are here to build sustainable businesses.”
She applauded participants for returning to the classroom at a stage in life when many believe learning is behind them.
“I know that when you reach a certain level, you tell yourself you’re not going back to school,” she said with a smile. “But you came back. You did homework. You prepared presentations. You proved that learning never stops. And we are incredibly proud of you.”
Each graduate received an official certificate issued by Nova Business School, along with souvenirs from MTN. Angela Mensah-Poku stressed that the certificates were not honorary handouts.
“This isn’t a participation trophy,” she insisted. “They went through rigorous modules and exams. They earned what they are receiving today.”
The ceremony concluded with cheers, applause, and a renewed sense of purpose as the freshly certified entrepreneurs prepared to return to their businesses equipped with enhanced strategies, sharper insights, and a renewed drive to scale.
As MTN and Absa continue to invest in Ghana’s SME ecosystem, this year’s graduates represent yet another wave of innovators determined to build businesses that can compete locally, regionally, and beyond.
