The Kwahuhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III, has been arrested following a dramatic dawn raid on the Kwahu Palace at Abene and the detention of the Queen Mother, Nana Adwoa Gyemfua, puretvonline has confirmed.
The traditional ruler, who was in Accra at the time of the incident, reportedly rushed to Kwahu on Monday morning, November 17, after receiving reports that armed men in police uniforms had stormed the palace around 4 a.m., fired gunshots, and taken the Queen Mother into custody.
But upon his arrival, he was immediately arrested.
Sources indicate that the officers who carried out the operation were accompanied by the disputed chief, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, deepening tensions surrounding the longstanding Kwahu chieftaincy conflict.

Multiple residents reported that the men who stormed the palace claimed to be personnel from National Security.
Both the Nkawkaw and Kwahu Divisional Police Commands have distanced themselves from the incident, stating that they had no prior knowledge of the operation, raising serious questions about the coordination, authorisation and legitimacy of the raid.
The National Security Secretariat has since confirmed the incident. It has deployed additional teams to the enclave to ascertain the facts, manage tensions and help restore calm in the community.
The situation has heightened anxiety among residents as the chieftaincy dispute continues to escalate. Further details are expected as investigations progress.
