Residents of Kalabule Chinese, near the Kasoa Tollbooth in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, have been left in shock following the gruesome killing of 26-year-old fashion designer Mabel Asantewaa.
According to police reports, Mabel was allegedly stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend, 28-year-old carpenter Bra Sammy, during a visit to her residence.
The couple reportedly spent the night together before tragedy struck. Investigations suggest that the suspect became violent after a brief argument when he allegedly demanded sex. The victim, however, is said to have declined, explaining that she was menstruating.

In a fit of rage, the suspect allegedly stabbed Mabel repeatedly, leading to her death.
After committing the act, police say Bra Sammy ingested a poisonous substance in an attempt to take his own life. He was quickly apprehended by the Weija Divisional Police Command and rushed to the Amanfrom Polyclinic, where he is currently receiving treatment under police guard.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the mortuary for preservation and autopsy as investigations continue.
Authorities have assured the public that justice will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
