Firefighters from the New Juaben North and South Municipal Fire Commands are battling a raging inferno that has engulfed the House 3 boys’ dormitory block at Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS) in the Eastern Region.
The blaze, which broke out about an hour ago, is believed to have started in the master’s bungalow—situated within the same block as the dormitory—before spreading rapidly to the adjoining students’ quarters.

A fire tender from the Regional Fire Command has been deployed to reinforce municipal crews, who are working to contain the flames and prevent the fire from consuming nearby structures.
The cause of the incident remains unknown, but preliminary investigations are expected to begin once the fire is brought under control.
So far, no casualties have been reported.
Authorities are urging students, staff, and residents in the area to stay clear of the scene to allow emergency responders unhindered access.
