VIDEO: Former Government Appointees Are ‘Confidential Tricksters’- Twifo-Atti Morkwa MP
The Member of Parliament for Twifo-Atti Morkwa, Hon. David T.D. Vondee, has launched a scathing attack on former government appointees, accusing them of being “confidential trickers” who expertly cover up their wrongdoings.
According to him, the previous administration consistently misled Ghanaians on key financial and economic issues.
He cited their claims that the controversial Electronic Transactions Levy (E-Levy) was crucial for running the country and preventing Ghana from seeking an International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout—yet, despite its passage, the government still turned to the IMF.

Vondee further criticised the administration for contradicting itself on monetary policies. “They assured Ghanaians that the Bank of Ghana would stop printing money after the E-Levy was passed, but they continued to do so,” he alleged.
He also slammed the National Cathedral project, describing it as “the most expensive hole ever dug in the world.” He referenced ongoing legal battles between the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta over alleged financial mismanagement, expressing shock that Ofori-Atta had taken legal action against the OSP instead of accounting for the funds spent.
“The schematics and gymnastics of these previous appointees involved in criminal-related issues are becoming too many,” Vondee warned. “The NDC government must be very careful because they know how to manoeuvre their way out of accountability. The past eight years under them have been horrible.”
He urged the current administration and security agencies to be strategic in handling corruption-related cases against former officials. While acknowledging the need for justice, he cautioned against reckless raids on their residences, suggesting that more tactical and legal approaches would yield better results.
Vondee concluded by emphasising that allegations of financial misappropriation under the previous administration are “legendary” and called for a thorough but careful pursuit of justice.
He made these statement as a panellist on Hot FM Morning Drive hosted by Don. Kwabena Prah.
