A fierce fire has gutted three girls’ dormitories at Labone Senior High School in Accra, causing extensive damage to school property and displacing students.
The fire broke out while students were attending afternoon prep, reducing one dormitory to ashes while partially damaging two others.

The cause of the blaze remains unknown, and investigations are currently underway to determine the source of the inferno.
Emergency services, including the Ghana National Fire Service, arrived promptly to battle the flames and managed to bring the situation under control, preventing further spread.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. The affected students have been provided with temporary shelter at the school’s assembly hall as authorities assess the extent of the damage and map out the next course of action.
School officials and relevant stakeholders are expected to address the situation and provide long-term solutions to accommodate the displaced students.
