Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, the Minister of State-designate for Public Sector Reforms, has called for a national dialogue to review and improve the recruitment process within the public sector.

Appearing before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Monday, February 24, Ms. Akanvariba stressed the need for efficiency, meritocracy, and transparency in hiring practices to enhance governance and service delivery.

“Many people associate the public sector with only the civil service, but it includes numerous agencies. We need to leverage technology to improve efficiency and accountability,” she noted.
