The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations has intensified efforts to finalise the Ghana Innovation and Startup Bill, holding a high-level meeting with key stakeholders, including Kofi Ocloo, Vice President of Heritors Labs, and consultants from the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
The bill is a critical initiative aimed at fostering innovation and providing structural support for startups nationwide. During the meeting, Mr. Ocloo presented detailed evidence reports, offering valuable insights into Ghana’s innovation landscape.
These reports will serve as a foundational reference for shaping the bill.

To ensure comprehensive input, the Ministry has outlined a rigorous three-step review process, incorporating feedback at committee, zonal, and national levels before submission to Parliament.
Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fast-tracking the bill.
He emphasised the importance of collaboration with Heritors Labs and CSIR to refine and finalise the legislative framework.
The ministry has set a clear timeline, targeting May 2025 for activating the review process, ensuring the bill reaches Parliament before the legislative recess.
