Presidential staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has raised doubts about the reported ill health of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, questioning whether his medical condition is genuine or a tactic to evade justice.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Wednesday, February 12, Jantuah dismissed claims by Ofori-Atta’s legal team that he is undergoing medical tests abroad, insisting that he should provide photographic evidence to back the reports.
The former minister’s legal representatives have stated that he travelled for medical reasons and had duly informed both the former and current Chief of Staff about his condition before leaving the country in January. They insist that his absence is not an attempt to evade the special prosecutor’s investigation.

However, Jantuah remains sceptical, pointing out that Ofori-Atta appeared perfectly healthy when she last saw him.
“If Ken has done anything wrong, they must go and bring him to answer. When I met him at the funeral of the wife of Uncle Mike Gizo, he didn’t look sick. He even tucked in his shirt. Is it the case that he is running away from justice?” she asked.
The special prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, recently declared Ofori-Atta wanted over alleged financial misconduct that reportedly caused financial losses to the state. His office has vowed to take all necessary steps to ensure the former minister faces the law.
Jantuah, however, believes Ofori-Atta should not be allowed to escape accountability.
“You don’t downplay sickness, but I don’t believe he is sick. He should send a picture for us to see,” she added.
As public debate intensifies, many are calling for Ken Ofori-Atta to return to Ghana and clear his name. Meanwhile, the Special Prosecutor’s office insists that it will not be deterred by claims of ill health and will continue pursuing the case.
Will Ofori-Atta provide the proof Jantuah is demanding, or will he remain abroad as pressure mounts?
