Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has directed the acting Director-General of the National Communications Authority (NCA) to submit a detailed report on all frequency authorisations issued or renewed within the past 60 days.
This directive, issued in a memo on Wednesday, February 12, is part of the government’s Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) initiative, which aims to reclaim state resources allegedly transferred to private entities without proper legal and procedural compliance.
The minister emphasised the administration’s commitment to transparency in managing assets under the ministry’s jurisdiction, stating:

“This marks the first phase in what would be a complete audit of all frequency authorisations to ensure sanity in the use of state resources in the broadcasting space.”
The government will scrutinise the issuance and renewal processes to determine whether they adhere to statutory regulations and serve the best interests of the state. Further actions will be communicated to the public following the review.
