Two people have died in a fatal accident at the Opoku Transport intersection on the Tech-Oforikrom stretch of the Kumasi-Accra highway.
The crash occurred at 4:30 AM on Tuesday, involving a Ford Transit ‘trotro’ bus and an OA-branded commercial bus.
The driver and conductor (‘mate’) of the trotro died on the spot. Some passengers on the fully loaded OA bus sustained injuries.

Eyewitnesses say the trotro driver was speeding and crashed into the side of the OA bus while negotiating a curve.
The accident has been partly attributed to the non-functional traffic lights at the intersection, which made navigation difficult for drivers.
The incident caused a temporary traffic hold-up on the highway until emergency services arrived to clear the wreckage.
