Residents of Mempeasem, a suburb of Bole in the Savannah Region, were left in shock on Saturday, February 8, 2025, after discovering the lifeless body of a young man in a large rubbish container near a public toilet.
The victim, believed to be in his early twenties, was found with his hands and legs tied, raising suspicions of foul play.
According to Channel One News correspondent Malik Gazari, the Assemblymember for the Mempeasem electoral area, Abu Hassan, confirmed the incident and described it as deeply troubling.

He revealed that this was the eighth such killing reported in the area, sparking fears among residents.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to reporters described the gruesome nature of the discovery, with some suggesting the victim may have been tortured before his death. “This is not the first time we are witnessing such a thing. We are all living in fear now,” a local resident lamented.
The case has been reported to the police, who have since launched an investigation. The body has been transported to the Bole Hospital mortuary for an autopsy as authorities work to determine the cause of death and identify possible suspects.
Security agencies have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
Meanwhile, community leaders are calling for increased police presence in the area to curb what appears to be a growing trend of mysterious killings.
