A physically challenged cobbler, known as Connection, has tragically lost his life in a fatal accident along the Sunyani-Abesim highway.
The incident occurred around 3 pm near the Oti Yeboah Company Limited (OYCL) section of the highway.
Eyewitnesses recount that Connection was returning home after purchasing a phone charger when a private saloon car lost control and struck him.

Bystanders, including food vendors who saw the car approaching erratically, managed to flee for safety.
Unfortunately, due to his mobility limitations—having had his right leg amputated—Connection was unable to escape in time and was hit, resulting in his immediate death.
Police arrived at the scene an hour later, at approximately 4 pm, to recover the body and commence investigations.
The driver of the vehicle, an elderly man believed to be in his 70s, has since turned himself in at the Abesim police station and is cooperating with authorities.
The tragic accident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents calling for improved road safety measures to prevent similar incidents. Friends and family of the deceased are mourning the loss of a hard-working man who, despite his physical challenges, remained committed to his craft.
