The incident prompted a swift response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), which arrived on the scene within six minutes of receiving the emergency call at 05:27 hours.
The GNFS deployed tactical firefighting methods to bring the situation under control and prevent the fire from spreading further in the bustling market.

The operation involved the use of two 5 kg CO₂ fire extinguishers, twenty-six 6 kg dry chemical powder extinguishers, and water supplied through a hose reel. These efforts were critical in salvaging 23 out of 25 shops in the immediate vicinity of the fire.
Despite the close proximity of the shops and the potential for the fire to escalate, the GNFS managed to contain the blaze, averting a major disaster. No injuries or fatalities were recorded during the incident, a testament to the professionalism and preparedness of the fire service team.
While the two affected shops sustained damage, the prompt intervention minimised losses and ensured the safety of surrounding businesses. Market activity resumed shortly after, thanks to intensified patrols and the coordinated efforts of first responders.
