The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Majority Caucus in Parliament has appointed new leadership, prompted by recent ministerial appointments made by President John Mahama.
The reshuffle reflects efforts to strengthen parliamentary leadership following the transition of key MPs into government roles.
New Majority Leadership:
- Majority Leader: Mahama Ayariga, MP for Bawku Central, succeeds Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, who now serves as Finance Minister.
- Deputy Majority Leader: Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, MP for Cape Coast South, replaces Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP for Ellembelle, now Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.
- Majority Chief Whip: Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, MP for South Dayi, takes over from Governs Kwame Agbodza, MP for Adaklu, now Minister for Roads and Highways.
- First Deputy Majority Chief Whip: Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, MP for Ada.
- Second Deputy Majority Chief Whip: Richard Acheampong, MP for Bia East.
