President John Dramani Mahama has named North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as the minister-designate for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
This appointment leads a series of significant ministerial nominations unveiled by the president to shape his administration.
Among the new appointees are Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, slated to head the Ministry of Defence, and Juaboso MP Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, who has been tapped as the minister-designate for Health.
Ellembelle MP Kofi Armah Buah will assume responsibility for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
The President also nominated Asawase MP Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak as Interior Minister-designate, while Ningo Prampram MP Sam Nartey George is set to lead the Ministry for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation. Additionally, Abura Asebu Kwamankese MP Felix Kwakye Ofosu has been designated as Minister of State for Government Communications.
In a statement issued on January 21, the Presidency highlighted the appointments as a reflection of President Mahama’s dedication to effective governance and his administration’s responsiveness to national priorities.
“The individuals appointed bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and dedication to their respective roles, further strengthening the administration’s focus on delivering on its mandate,” the statement read.
