A Plus Reveals Shatta Wale’s Role in His Journey to Parliament
Ghanaian musician-turned-politician Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has shared an inspiring and unexpected story about how Dancehall star Shatta Wale influenced his path to becoming a Member of Parliament (MP).
Speaking in a recent interview, A Plus revealed that before embarking on his campaign for the Gomoa Central seat, he sought advice from Shatta Wale, known for his outspoken and sometimes controversial persona.
“Shatta told me to follow the life of Jesus Christ. In simple terms, he meant I should focus on giving back and supporting the people. That’s how you gain their love and trust,” A Plus recounted.
The advice, simple yet profound, transformed A Plus’s approach to politics. “I was amazed at the depth of his words. God doesn’t put wisdom just anywhere. Sometimes, it’s hidden in the places you least expect. Shatta Wale is a perfect example of that,” he added.
A Plus credited this guidance for his ability to deeply connect with his constituents. By focusing on serving and uplifting the people, he was able to gain their trust and win the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat.
The new MP emphasised that his priority is bringing meaningful change to the area, particularly in addressing the constituency’s infrastructural challenges.
Shatta Wale, often regarded as a polarising figure in Ghana’s music industry, continues to surprise fans with his influence beyond music.
His unexpected role in shaping A Plus’s political journey underscores the depth of his personality and the impact of his perspective on those around him.
