A group of six suspected armed robbers launched a terrifying attack on multiple passengers travelling along the Accra-Assin Fosu road on Saturday evening.

The incident took place between Ayeldo and Sekyerew-Nyakumasi Ahenkuro, an area notorious for its poor road conditions, around 6:30 p.m.

According to victims, the robbers not only stole money, phones, and other valuables but also resorted to brutal violence, beating those who couldn’t produce enough cash. One victim, a sprinter driver with registration number GW-6775-24, recounted the horrifying events, stating that as he approached a pothole in the dimming light, a man with a torchlight flagged him down to stop. “As I struggled to open the driver’s door, I heard a gunshot,” he said, recalling the terrifying moment.
